cool image... ML, a small request.. can u also put the exposure details when u are uploading pics.. it will be very useful for learners like me :) thanks a lot
Iris, Thank you. I shot this in Super Macro mode near a lakeside, the BG is reflection of sky on water. I'm not a big fan of flash photography, this one is no exception.
AP, Thank you. I'm learning too.. You can find more details of this pic in my page with Flickr
>>I'm not a big fan of flash photography, this one is no exception. << Hmm.. that is revelation to me.. And i didnt think the water would look this ... purple... why is that?
>>not a fan of flash photography<< http://www.flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=123066260 light source used there was a Table lamp? I am not much of a calculator: but f3.2 and 1/25 was good enough eh? (apparently it was:) (may be it wont work for normal film?... enlighten me)
@Shaniyan: I know..still saving for that DSLR! will check the link u posted.
@Iris, i adjusted the saturation, thus the color. >>not a fan of flash photography<< I dont prefer the 'flat' effect which the usage of flash gives to an image, so i try to use alternate light sources. For eg, in the pic you mentioned the lighting is from a chandelier. u r right, it may not work for a normal film.
@sines, no biggie..just a blade trapped in spiders web.
>>I dont prefer the 'flat' effect which the usage of flash gives to an image, so i try to use alternate light sources.<< Undertood magic. Flat effect will be a problem with a single direct flash...If u get a "hot shoe" and another flash and get creative, that may open new avenues for adventure...

Guess this spider is a vegetarian!!
I have cropped the image a lil to draw attention to the blade.
Well done:)
I am glad there are vegetarians in spiders too:)
BTW, what did u use as the Background?
Daylight or flash?(guessing daylight).

I couldn't tell what this really was until I read a few comments to find out. I guess I don't have an eye for abstract.
